New to Good Shepherd?

SERVICES

Our services are liturgical in nature, guided by the Book of Common Prayer, biblically-rich and participatory, seeking to encounter Christ in Word and Sacrament. First, we hear readings from the Holy Scriptures—usually from the Old Testament, Psalms, New Testament and a Gospel—followed by a sermon. Second, we come to the table for Communion. The bread and wine are blessed by the priest, then we receive the Body and Blood of Christ as our weekly celebration of Jesus’ death and resurrection. One can expect open worship with dedicated spaces for contemplation and prayer. A variety of styles of music will be utilized in our service, contemporary and ancient hymns.

EUCHARIST

The Eucharist—also known as Communion, Mass, or the Lord's Supper—is made available to all who consider themselves members of the body of Christ. When you come to the table you do not come to Good Shepherd’s table or an “Anglican” table, you are invited to the Lord’s table. You are welcomed into his divine hospitality. If you belong to him, we invite you to receive Communion, whether or not you are a member of Good Shepherd or consider yourself an Anglican.
