Pentecost Sunday

  • Good Shepherd Nashville 7501 Old Harding Pike Nashville, TN, 37221 United States (map)

Join us for a vibrant and engaging Pentecost Sunday service as we celebrate the birth of the Church and the coming of the Holy Spirit!

Pentecost, observed 50 days after Easter, marks the moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles in tongues of fire, empowering them to speak in different languages and share the good news with people from all nations (Acts 2). This powerful event is often considered the birthday of the Christian Church.

In the Anglican tradition, Pentecost has long been a joyful, spirit-filled celebration — a time to wear red, symbolizing the fire of the Spirit, and to reflect on how we are called to be Christ’s witnesses in the world.

We’ll honor the global Church with scripture, music, and prayers, celebrating the beautiful diversity of God’s people. Expect a joyful, spirit-filled morning that highlights different cultures and languages — a true reflection of the worldwide body of Christ.

Join us on Sunday, June 8th at 10 AM as we celebrate the Spirit that unites us all — across languages, lands, and lives.
