Holy Saturday is the day of divine silence—the day when Christ rests in the tomb. The Cross has been lifted, the cry of “It is finished” has echoed through the earth, and now, in stillness, creation holds its breath. The Church, too, is silent—not in despair, but in watchful hope. This is not an absence, but a fullness. The silence of Holy Saturday is the silence of God entering death itself, filling even the grave with His presence. It is the day of the great Sabbath rest, when Christ, having completed the work of redemption, descends to the depths of all things to bring forth new life.
We invite you to enter this holy stillness. Fr. Brian Goodwin will lead us in a time of contemplative prayer and reflection in the sanctuary—a space to wait, to watch, and to listen. Before the light of Resurrection breaks forth, let us dwell in this sacred pause, where even death is transfigured by the love of God.
