Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a 40-day journey of prayer, penance, and almsgiving as we prepare our hearts and minds for the resurrection of our Lord and Savior on Easter.
As we gather together for the imposition of ashes on our foreheads, we recall that this is an outward sign of grief, humility, mourning, mortality, and an opportunity for repentance. As the Lord God proclaims to Adam, “By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; you are dust, and to dust you shall return,” (Genesis 3:19).
We hope you join us for our Ash Wednesday service on February 14th at either 12 PM or 6 PM (childcare provided only at this service).
