Shrove Tuesday Pancake Feast

  • Good Shepherd Nashville 7501 Old Harding Pike Nashville, TN, 37221 United States (map)

Join us for our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Feast on Tuesday, February 13th from 5:30-7 PM in the Small Fellowship Hall. Before we gather together for Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenten season, we feast! And we feast with pancakes and other delicious breakfast foods.

Good Shepherd will provide pancakes and toppings, but if your last name falls between A-M, please bring a breakfast meat side (such as sausage, bacon, etc.). If your name falls between N-Z, please bring an egg dish (casseroles, etc.).

Please register below so we know how many pancakes to flip!

The word 'shrove' translates to shrive, which means shrift or absolve. Traditionally, church bells would ring reminding townspeople that it was time to attend church and confess their sins before Lent began the following day. Palms from the previous years' Palm Sunday service would also be brought in order to be burned and used to impose ashes on Ash Wednesday.

Earlier Event: February 6
Midweek Eucharist Service
Later Event: February 14
Ash Wednesday (Afternoon Service)
