Time to dust off those crock-pots, everyone! Good Shepherd's annual Chili Cook-Off is back, happening on Saturday, November 30th at 4 PM.
If you are not entering the competition, please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
We recommend bringing a muffin tin to use for the chili tasting! It's highly effective and reduces waste :)
Chili toppings and drinks will be provided. If you would like to bring a bottle of wine or some beer to share, feel free!
Additionally, we will make time at the Cook-Off to assemble care packs for perilously housed in our community. We are excited to partner with The Quiet Place, a ministry helping the local unhoused community, offering them a place and space to escape the cold, use the restroom, use the phone, a place to rest, etc. Colder months are particularly challenging for those who are perilously housed in our community, and the holiday season can be a lonely time for many of these neighbors. We will be collecting items for the care packs leading up to the Cook-Off. Those items are as follows:
Boxes of granola bars
Lighters and boxes of matches
Small pocket size packs of wipes
Small carry-on size bottles of hand sanitizer
Adult socks
Hand warmers
Box of bandaids
Items can be dropped off in the bin in the lobby. If you have any questions, please feel free to connect with Jackie (jaclyntidwell@gmail.com).
