Advent Wreath Workshop + Chili Cook-Off

  • Good Shepherd Nashville 7501 Old Harding Pike Nashville, TN, 37221 United States (map)

Join us for our first ever combined Advent Wreath Workshop and Chili Cook-Off! On Saturday, December 2nd from 4-6:30 PM, you'll have the chance to make your own Advent Wreath to take home with you to place in your home and use during the season of Advent.

Additionally, we will host our annual Chili Cook-Off, so if you're up for the challenge of taking on our reigning Chili Champion for the past two years, Jeremy Anderson, we hope you bring your a-chili game.

We will meet in the Small Fellowship Hall and will keep the playground open for kids to enjoy.
Advent Wreath Workshop is $35 per household. If you'd like to enter the Chili Cook-Off, please specify on your registration how many pots of chili you are desiring to bring. Attending the Chili Cook-Off event is $5 per adult. Children are FREE

If you wish to come to the Chili Cook-Off, but are not interested in participating in the competition, feel free to bring a side or dessert to share.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out to Zach Wallace (zach@goodshepherdnashville.org). Please make sure to register for this event clicking the link below.

Some background info on the Advent Wreath: The Advent wreath is a tool to help us contemplate the advent of Christ's coming. Each element of the wreath is symbolic. The four Sundays during Advent reminds us of those who prepared for the coming of Christ. ‘The Patriarchs’ can naturally focus on Abraham, our father in faith, and David, the ancestor in whose city Jesus was born. ‘The Prophets’ gives an opportunity to reflect on the way the birth of the Messiah was ‘foretold’. John, who proclaimed the Saviour, and Mary, who bore him in her womb, complete the picture.
